Alto Case Ready Systems is a division of Alto Packaging, New Zealand's largest plastic packaging company with turnover exceeding NZ$140 million. Alto’s meat packaging system is designed to meet the needs of Meat Processors in Australia and New Zealand for extended storage life of primal cut meat for both domestic and export markets

Alto’s case ready meat system has been developed to provide Meat Packers with a cost effective means for central packing of retail ready meat. The system enables the use of either low cost foam trays or rigid plastic trays which are stretch wrapped thereby presenting meat to the consumer in the packaging format they prefer.

The packaging gases used in the Alto meat packing system are critical to its ability to greatly extend the chilled storage life of primal meat cuts. Accurate analysis of the package gas mix is the basis for the successful preservation and presentation of the various meat types and formats being packed. Consequently, Alto has an exclusive distribution agreement with Cambridge Sensotec for supply of their range of Gas Analysers to the meat processing and packing industry in Australia and New Zealand.

To date we have found the Cambridge Sensotec oxygen analysers to be reliable, accurate, robust and good value. We now recommend them to all our customers who use our meat packing systems.
