Rapidox 1100 Methane Analyser

Product Information

The Rapidox 1100-M methane (CH4) gas analyser is the company’s most cost-effective and versatile range of CH4 gas analysers fitted with an infra-red gas sensor or a tuneable laser diode sensor depending on the application.

The infra-red (IR) sensor is the most common and preferred solution for methane (natural gas) measurement providing fast and accurate gas analysis over the range 0-1% to 0-100% CH4 and is particularly suitable for aggressive industrial applications as the sample gas is filtered for dust and particles and is non-condensing. IR sensors are highly suitable for measuring gases that absorb infra-red light such as CO2, CO & CH4 particularly in percent levels of concentration.  Different sensor lengths are available to allow different ranges of the gas to be detected hence the importance of selecting the correct range for your application.

Product Information

Please note that methane IR sensors are sensitive to the presence of all hydrocarbons including ethane, butane, pentane & propane and will give reading based on the total hydrocarbon content rather than the natural gas content.  For applications such as Syngas measurement where there are other hydrocarbons present a tuneable laser diode sensor (TLD) is a more suitable sensor choice.  This sensor responds only to methane (natural gas) and is available in 0-100% scale CH4.

All Rapidox gas analysers used in flammable gas applications are fitted with a flashback arrestor as standard.

The standard R1100-M methane analyser is available in various ranges of CH4 selected at the time of ordering.  0-1%, 0-5%, 0-10%, 0-30% & 0-100% are available in the IR sensor range, and 0-100% for the TLD option,  with a choice of gas fittings on the front or rear of the instrument.  Upgrades to Swagelok fittings (1/4” or 6mm) are available at the time of order.  Each version is available with a choice of internal electric sample pump or vacuum ejector pump.

Special variations of the R1100-M model include:

A stainless steel IP54 instrument version with 316 stainless steel instrument case and sealed gasket joints, designed primarily for the food and pharma industries.

2)         A 4U bezel mounted version compatible with 19” rack mount systems.

3)         A special biogas version (0-100%) with a modified calibration for use in biogas (CH4/CO2) gas mixtures.

Finally, the Rapidox 1100 complies with EMC Directive 2004 / 108 / EC. UL/ETL Certification Number: UL-61010-1.
