SF6 Gas Analyser Acquires Sample Pump Option

Much SF6 gas testing instruments struggles to extract a sample from Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) Units operating at lower pressures. Distribution level GIS units operating at 33kV or 11kV, such as Ring Main Units may have operating pressures of 0.5 bar (50 kPa) or lower. The Rapidox SF6 Multimeter from Cambridge Sensotec is now available with a switchable internal pump that allows testing of high voltage electrical assets containing sulphur hexafluoride gas at gauge pressures, down to zero.

The Rapidox SF6 Multimeter detects the percentage of SF6 present and will measure the impurities SO2 and H2O. The measurement of these three gases enables full condition testing of insulating gas to be carried out and will give an indication of whether partial discharge has occurred in the SF6 insulated switchgear.

Cambridge Sensotec has been manufacturing the Rapidox range of gas analysers at its factory near Cambridge, UK since 2000. It is an ISO9001 registered company.
